Sunday Gatherings

Summit shares a worship location with Henderson Memorial Baptist Church congregation. The building is located on 110 Academy St. in downtown Farmington, ME. Since two congregations share the same space, we must take turns using the sanctuary. Henderson Memorial service concludes at 10:30 AM. After HMBC wraps up, there is a 15 minute transition and set up time for folks at Summit to begin their service. People should be in the sanctuary and ready to worship by 10:45 AM Sunday morning. Those who have come to attend are welcome to enjoy a cup of coffee until the Summit service begins.

What to Expect

At Summit, we have a very high view of worship. We believe one of the most important reasons we were created is to give God the worship He deserves. It is with this in mind that we have very thoughtfully designed our Sunday liturgy. We want to be faithful to how God has prescribed worship should occur. Jesus has told us the Father desires worshipers who would worship Him in "Spirit and in Truth". While the service is relaxed and dress is casual, we place high value on using our time to engage both heart and mind to the glory of God. Music tends to be a mix between contemporary and hymns. Common elements of service include Call to Worship, Catechism, Lord's Supper, Music and Sermons. Sermons are expository where series cover entire books of the bible to assist in providing context for the scriptures. The service also offers nursery school and Sunday school options for children.
